This WebQuest is designed for use with sixth grade students and addresses standards in Language Arts, Social Studies, Art, and Information Literacy. Students who are struggling readers may be challenged by some of the electronic texts. However, the resources vary in length and difficulty and several have significant audio/visual segments.

Students are assumed to be familiar with navigating websites and should be able to use the WebQuest without assistance. They are also assumed to be familiar with Kidspiration drawing software. Students who do not have these skills should work in a group with others who do, so that students can mentor one another. If Kidspiration or similar software is unavailable, print out this spider map or use a graphic organizer of your choice.

The group final product offers the opportunity for creative expression through both visual and written communication. The needs of all learning styles should be easily accomodated.
